Back to the Body

After working on the engine/transmission fit for a while, I decided to go back to body work for a bit. As with the right hand side, the entire lower left hand side of the car was swiss cheese and needed to be replaced. This includes the floor pan, inner sill, rocker, end cap, rear wing, and lower A-post. You can see in these first two pictures how bad the rocker area was:

So as usual, the first steps were to cut out the cancer. I removed all the above mentioned parts. The center sill section had a good bit of rust, so I chopped that out and replaced it with 16 gauge metal cut to fit.

After those sections were repaired, it was just a matter of installing the new wing repair panel, rocker, end cap and lower A-post. After a little filler around the repair section, this will be good as new and definitely 100x better than I received it!
