I’ve been working on random small things as it’s peak heat time here in Austin, with the average daily temperature around 95-102°F (35-39°C). I taped off the outline of the hole needed for the sunroof I’ll be going with, although personally I think this is a bit large. This is 35″ wide by 30″ long, and I think I will reduce it to 30×30.
I also finished both the drivers side floor pan and the passenger side front quarter patch. I have to do the rear side of both quarters as well, just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I spent a good bit of time completely rebuilding my front suspension. I replaced all the bushings, bearings, pads, rotors, tie rod ends, ball joints, upgraded studs, new shocks/struts, etc. and did POR-15 on everything. I even jazzed up the rotors a bit which I think will go well with the car when finished.
Lastly, a forum member helped me find some mirrors that looked a lot like the ones the car had on the fenders. I really liked them, but they were in bad shape, so I got some new ones. They will be going back on the fenders, although I know everyone is going to comment on how that’s not a great place for them for visibility.
