When I opened facebook a few weeks ago to do my normal checking of car groups and unfriending of idiots I somehow accepted as FB friends years ago, I was delighted to see a post and some tiny pictures about a 1972 Triumph GT6 for sale for a ridiculously low price in California. I am already doing a frame-off on a ’68 Cutlass in my garage, but I have always wanted a GT6, so I knew I had to have it!
I contacted the owner and had him on the phone a little bit later. The car was sadly an Alaskan car, so the floor pans were toast, but he said it appeared to be in decent shape otherwise given the age and the fact that it had been sitting for years. He purchased it with the intent to fix it up 7 years ago, but no progress was made. Not currently running, but was when purchased, which is the typical story.
So now she’s on her way to me, and I have big plans! Hopefully she will be here tomorrow or the 14th, and we’ll see what we can do after that.
And here she is on the truck, headed home:
